An Old Friends Reunion

Roasting marshmallows around the fire pit at the Halversen's house.
Audrey, Courtney, and Lauren love the smoke.

It was Makayla Jensen's 14th birthday and her mom is taking a picture.

Either Lauren is camera shy or she has smoke in her eyes.

Makayla Jensen
On our way home from Minersville we stopped in Mapleton, UT and stayed the night with the Halversens. The Jensens joined us and it just so happened to be Makayla's birthday the next day. The Halversens and the Jensens were once Washingtonians and moved back to Utah to be closer to family. When we left Tuesday morning we had to pry Courtney and Lauren away from one another. Zach and Ethan were not as bad but I think there were five or six kids squished in the back seat of the truck. That didn't work - too obvious - so Zach tried to hide Ethan in the dog kennel with Sundance. Then Lauren came running out with an armful of close ready to go home with us. If only we had brought the mini van. We sure do miss the Jensens and the Halversens in the ward and in our daily lives.

Minersville, UT

Here is Chris' favorite float. The princesses. Check out the converse tennis shoes.
Tyler is giving Uncle Adam a big hug. It looks like a tailgate party, not a parade.

Here is Chris walking Zach in the Beaver Mtns. Actually, Sundance is behind Zach so it looks a little silly.

Natalie, Aunt Shanda's little girl.

Courtney and Kylie watch the Minersville Parade. Kylie is Courtney's protege.

Uncle Derek with Ally, watching the parade at Grandma Banks' house.

Colton Banks - Uncle Derek's oldest boy. The rest are sitting in the Rhino.

We travelled to Minersville, UT over the 4th of July weekend. Picked Chris up right from music camp and took off. First we went into St. George to see Grandma and Grandpa Edwards. It was hotter than...you know. Had some truck problems but Adam took care of it. Took Sundance for a walk around the St. George temple. Then we went to Minersville for the big, I mean HUGE!, parade on Saturday. We were hit with a lot of candy and goodies. The town set up bouncy toys in the park and all the cousins had fun hopping and sliding the day away. Later, they opened the pool for a public swim and almost everyone went. Courtney managed to get a bloody nose. Sunday some of us went up into the Beaver Mountains and played around and fished. Caught nothing but it is Zach's obsession right now. Monday we left for Salt Lake to visit friends.

Fishing

Zach has been obsessed with going fishing for the last month. Finally Adam bought a fishing license and took him and Courtney to Alder Lake. They didn't catch anything, of course. Then Adam took them to Bradley Lake and Zach finally made his catch. It was a tiny, little trout you see in the picture. Courtney also caught a trout. Her fish was twice the size but she wouldn't pose with it. Zach is still trying to get his dad to go fishing, rain or shine.

Five Generations of Railroading

This was the dreaded "Reach Project" that Chris did for Bethel Junior High. The project had to represent a part of his culture or heritage. He focused on the Union Pacific Railroad and the four previous generations who worked on trains. He learned a lot about his Great, Great Grandpa and his Great Grandpa and what they did on the railroad.

Vivace' & the CWU Choir Perform Carmina Burana

Courtney's Vivace Concert with the CWU choir at Benaroya Hall. She is on the last row next to the wall, which is almost impossible to see. I wish they would have illuminated them.

Zachary's Baptism - January 2nd, 2010

Zach is getting ready to go to his baptism. He looks real thrilled.
Adam and Zach. They both look real thrilled.
Courtney added a smile to the picture.
Courtney tries to make Zach smile.
After the baptism an Elder took this picture for us. Mitch Noll, our bishopric member, and Shelli Arnold, our primary president, joined us in the picture. Zach was very nervous because he thought Adam was going to hold him under the water for a long time. I think Zach was relieved when it was all over. Afterwards we went and had lunch.

Sundance

Sundance posed for some Christmas pictures but it wasn't easy. She is a good dog and usually does what she is told. Here she is wearing Courtney's Santa hat. She is about nine months old.
